Brand new furniture breaks immediately.

In the first period of 2007, we spent almost $5000 dollars at bobs. We purchased a living room set and a bedroom set, and paid for delivery and the "Goof" warranty. The delivery company no call no show 2x before delivering. then when they did come, the dresser was scratched, and other dings and knicks in the bedroom set. They said bc the warranty they would send a repair tech for free. no one called us. about 60 days after delivery, the couch broke and we hit the floor (LOL- really). We called repair. (The frame was held to the sub frame in the center under the cushion in the center, by 1 piece of particale board, that was 2 inches long, 1/4 inch thick, 1 inch wide. this is why it broke...) They sent a repair tech out who did not speak english or spanish. He had no idea why he was at my home, or what to do. he stunk like onion bagel and caribean sweat. no, im not kidding. they took a hatian guy off blue hill ave in boston who was a crack addict, gave him a screwdriver, and dropped him off at my house. I helped him take apart the couch, i showed him what was wrong. I reconnected the sub frame and hooked the springs back into the couch. He nailed the sub frame to the frame. then he left. my house stunk liike sweaty crack addict. He actually want ed to stay and watch my flatscreen, i had to shut it off to get him to keep working. We sat on the couch afterwards and nails stuck up and poked us in the side. the wood and nails scraped my hardwood floors. (Permenant damage) and the couch sank in the middle it never was comfortable again. we called repair about the drawers that wouldnt run the track right in the dresser, the couch that creaked and cracked when sat on, scraped the floors, poked us with nails, sunk when sat on, and the people who awnsered didnt "understand the problem" and would not send someone back out. I threw it out, it wasnt even 6 months old. I would never buy from bobs again. their prices are cheap bc there is no quality. Just fyi- I was in the army, ive earned everything i have ever had. My word is who i am. Their customer service, repair, and delivery are all the worst i have ever dealt with anywhere, and, the furniture quality is also god awful. dont waste your money. Spend the extra buck and go to bernie and phyls (they had a clearance section) we got a $1200 dollar certa sealy w/box spring for $440. we got a $1100 love seat leather recliner for $400. and im sitting on it as i type, relaxing, 5 months later.... (jordans and lazyboy are both heavily overpriced fyi) Good luck.

I know what you mean. I ordered some bedroom furniture for my children for christmas and the bed broke two months later on a wood bumpbed.

The suport for the bottom of the bed was these thin peices of ply wood to hold the bed from the floor. Not good Bob!

The customer service from Bob's Discount Furniture is HORRIBLE

I recently purchased a bedroom set from Bob's.. one of the top of the line ones. When they delivered it, they stated the feet that came w/ the dresser were not the correct ones, and that the correct ones would be delivered in about two weeks (org delivery date 4/16/08). They wanted to wait until the feet came in to put the mirror on. I requested they put it on that day so I wouldnt have this loose mirror just hanging out in the middle of my bedroom. It was put on alright... the screws are right through to the front of the mirror!! It looks horrible! They did state they would exchange it for me when the new feet came in. I just called (5/23/08) because I had not heard anything and they told me the new feet wouldnt come until august.. unbelievable.. when I stated it was unacceptable they put me on hold for 15 minutes until I finally hung up. When I called back and asked to speak to the store manager, he was, of course, not available. NEVER AGAIN!! Dont make the mistake I did.. I am dealing with the store in Niantic, Ct. I wouldnt recommend it to anyone 1,514.73 dollars for a poking...

I wish I saw this before I purchased and kingsize bed with Mattress from Bob's in Stamford, CT. Nightmare for me too.

First delivery date- assembled wrong bed (was the missing bed from 2 deliveries ago per delivery man-mismarked) brought in my bed but missing footboard. 2nd delivery date (4 days later) brought footboard but said didn't need footboard I already had it (in a box with the other parts/boxes of the unsusalbe KING bed in the middle of the room) but am missing side rails. 3rd delivery date 3 days later brought rails but missing slats and center support. 4th date, 4 days later-brought slats and support for orginal wrong bed (original wrong bed) and still don't have a bed to sleep in.

My Husband went to store and got some misc. temporary parts so we can use bed. 5th date 3 days later- brought me rails again and not center support.

I still don't have the over $2000 bed I paid for. Beware!

When we looked under the table, we found 31 such staples, yes 31!! We took them all out and called Bob's. Since then we've found holes under the chairs with wood chips waiting to come off. I was on the phone again this morning, on hold for customer service for 35 minutes, no humans. No one has returned our "customer service" complaint emails. We have no recourse but to go and make a stink in the store, which I plan to do. I can't believe a company as bad as this is still around? Who are they paying off? Is anyone else interested in generating a class action suit against them?

Imported (Asian or South American) has staples under the tops because of the straps used for packing.

BEFORE YOU BUY FURNITURE - ASK WHERE IT'S MADE! Buy American. You won't have to worry about staples, lead paint, etc.

Yeah, it costs more but let's make an investment in our own jobs and maybe prevent a few injuries too!

Bob's furniture is garbage

Bought a complete bedroom set for my daughter a year ago. The "wood" frame of the mirror has cracked in two places, two of the drawers on the dresser are broken and no longer open and all of the drawers grind when you open them. Never been ripped off like this before. When it was delivered, I should have known. Came with a broken mirror, took six months to replace. Back of dresser (cardboard) had a fist hole in the middle. Another 4 months to replace that. Stay away! This stuff is garbage and it wasn't cheap -- We paid $1700 for the set and go completely hosed.

My FIL ordered bunk beds for my boys back in April. We were told one of the pieces weren't available until May.

We said that's fine. May turned to June. June is here and we just got the delivery. But they can't put the beds together, 2 of the rails are missing, been ripped out of the box and the box has been taped up poorly.

Oh and to find out that there is no hardware, no screws, brackets, nothing. So now we have large boxes and slats of wood sitting in their room and no bed for the boys to sleep on. After a phone call, we supposedly have the rest of the delivery to happen on Monday when I have to *** of work, just so that they can come with the remaining pieces and then put the beds together, instead of them being able to do that today as planned. We were going to buy new living room furniture from them, because the displays are nice, but after what we are going through for the beds.

Forget it! I could built from scratch and get it all done faster and with better customer service than Bob's.

And now from what I read, this set will probably last a year before it starts to fall apart. Thanks for nothing Bob.

Not all delivery people are dishonest.. There I say it but my experience last February 7 was Horrible.

my Diamond engagement ring and wedding ring was stolen and some other jewelries. The only person in my bedroom is the Delivery guy. Called Bob's furniture and the Manager gives me false home, promising me that they will do everything they can to get my ring back and they will make it right for me but after waiting for many weeks they give me a news that they can't do anything about it. From we will do everything we can to make it right for you to can't do anything about it.

I am angry, angry and angry. my husband and I been together for 11 years, just got married last year. I waited for him to propose and he work so hard to get that perfect ring for me and all of the sudden someone took it away. someone Violated my trust, my home...

Bobs Discount Furniture Saugus MA - Liars

We purchased a table from Bobs Discount Furniture on Saturday so they were supposed to deliver it on Monday between 8am and 12 pm. My husband stayed home all day waiting for the delivery. So at 12 pm he called them to ask about the delivery. But all their phones in the whole area were out and he couldn't get a hold of customer service. In the evening we went to the store. And the manager laughed at us and said we were not home when they delivered the furniture. He totally humiliated us in front of the whole store and was rude. So we just got the money back and will never buy anything from them.

I had the WORST experience with Bobs Furniture, and would not reccommend it to anyone. Anyone. I purchased a sofa and loveseat Mid February, it was to be delivered that Friday. Week 1, it was never loaded onto the truck Week2, cancelled due to weather Week3, delievered, loveseat has a manufacturers defect in it. Week4, New loveseat delievered to be swapped with defect, new loveseat comes with same defect Week5, AGAIN, deliver new loveseat with same defect. After so many calls to customer service, I was told there was nothing else they could do for me. I was told I could keep the loveseat or swap for a new set. I had NO intention of purchasing anything else from there, and basically just surrendered. I recieved a $75 gift certificate in the mail 3 weeks later for " my trouble". I would not reccommened this store to anyone!

Bob's Discount Furniture, False Advertising

I purchased the fairfax living room set about 9 months ago. it is so uncomfortable and cheap feeling. It is not anything like what I sat on in the store. I was wondering why you have a product in your showroom that won't be the same product you get when purchased. I have half a mind to rip my sofas open and prove that it is completely different. What a waste of money! I gave it plenty of time to wear in, and it just isn't the same marshmallow texture that had originally sold me on the set. I just wish my set was what I agreed to purchase.I tried to contact them, but no response!!!

I have now been on hold for a collective 319 minutes without hearing a human voice. This is probably the worst customer service we've ever had.

We stll have broken (brand new for $800) chairs and unfastened legs on our dinette set of 3 weeks. IS ANYONE INTERESTED IN CLASS ACTION SUIT AGAINST BOB'S??

Bob's Discount Furniture Horrible you won't believe this

I purchased a livingroom set on 1/4/08. It arrived 2-3 weeks later because of inventory. The set arrives and the drivers damage my wall. Also the couch was broke. Bobs paid for the wall and set up a swap on the couch. When they brought the 2nd one a leg was broke. They were sending a tech to fix it but instead they sent a delivery guy. He was not equipt to fix the leg.While here the guy cut himself and was bleeding all over my couch. They set up a 3rd swap . In the mean time I shopped at the store again on 3/5/08 to buy a bedroom and kitchen set. When the driver showed up all they had was the bedroom and the kitchen set.They forgot the couch.While they were setting up my sons bed they damaged the wall in his room. Bobs agrees to pay for damage.The kitchen table was damaged as was 1 chair. They were going to replace the kitchen table and 1 chair. They set up the delivery of the kitchen table 1 chair and my couch for 3/14/08. The driver shows up and comes into my house. Then says to me and my pregnant wife.Whats the problem this time I am sick of this house.Then he tells me that he wants me to come check out the new couch before he brings it in.It is also broken(3rd time)so refuse it. In the mean time his helper starts taking my cushions and pillows out.Tossing them on the ground.When I refused the couch they started bringing the pillows and cushions back in.I said I wanted the new ones because they threw them in dirt.While bringing in the pillows I was missing 1 of the large pillows.I told the driver and he accused me of trying to steal a pillow.At this point I was thinking what is going on.He then finds the pillow on the truck brings it in and says oh I found it. No sorry or anything.Then they bring the kitchen table in lie it down in my livingroom. The driver (carlos)instead of walking around the new kitchen table to go outside. Actually steps on and walks across my new table.He comes back in and walks on it again. Still not beleiving what I was seeing I was in shock at his actions as was my wife.He then cuts the box open with a razor.Then starts to set up my table. I was checking for damage when he was done.There was a razor blade slice across the leaf. I told the driver I do not want it because of the slice. At that point he calls his work tells them he is done with the delivery. He had the guy on speaker phone. The guy could not hear him and asked to be taken off speaker phone. Carlos then yells at the guy and hangs up. Then he went nuts on me my pregnant wife and in front of our 7 yr old son. He told us he did not cut the table and we need to show him respect.Then he proceded to toss a chair into my wall causing more damage. Then he gets in my wifes face calls her a ***. Then told me i was a *** piece of *** and a *** ***. Then he called me outside to fight. I was like what the *** is going on.I of course was irate and demanded him to call his boss. He refused.I also told him to watch his mouth with my wife. Also in front of my 7 yr old. He then went storming into my front yard. In front of my next door neighbors he kept verbally abusing myself and my wife. He then left. I called bobs and got a sorry. After many calls I got offered a 300.00 gift card and a delivery charge refund. Then they set up another delivery for 3/17/08 to get my couch and table. What happens the guys bringing the couch in got it stuck in my doorway. They broke the tempered glass on my storm door. Tore up my wall and woodwork. Finally they get it in say sorry.Then they lean the couch on my coffee table and scratch it up. In the process of trying to get the couch unstuck. They rip it.Another delivery date is set. This is 4 couches /broken window /3 kitchen sets /3 damaged walls/ damaged woodwork/verbal abuse/threats of violence/hours on the phone/scaring my wife and son (they were crying)loss of time at work (many days) All we get is a sorry and 300.00 giftcard? We have been sent from person to person. Getting the runaround (Less) still waiting on 580.00 worth of damage checks

We bought a brand new living room set from Bob's Discount Furniture, and within days the rug started shedding badly. Tried to talk to our salesman, but he told us, not his problem.

Then the frame of our chair broke on the inside, and we called customer service. They sent a man to look at the problems and we were told tough luck on the rug. We had to shampoo the rug and THEN we'd be told, how much they would allow us, towards another rug. NOT replace the rug, we paid $400 for.

The man flipped over the chair and looked at it, and told us, there was nothing wrong with it either. Then I saw the tag on the chair. " Made in China " I could not believe it. Bob's doesn't even sell American made furniture.

He sells junk, that they WON'T stand behind. The chair has broken more, and I have to call again. They will replace it this time, NOT fix the piece of junk, with a patch job. Bob's got us once, but we will NEVER shop there again, after this experience.

The quality is AWFUL, the company does NOT, care about their customers, the salesman make their money and then want NOTHING to do with you at all. Ours walked off on us, and left us standing in the middle of the floor. ***!!!

Store Manager did NOTHING to solve the problem either. About the salesman or the furniture.

I ordered a sleeper sofa in July. It is fully paid and 4 months later it's still not here. I try to talk to someone who will fix this problem. I never talk to the same person twice and get the run-around each time.

I was promised numerous times that the "system glitches" holding up the delivery is fixed and and my couch would be delivered. Surprise surprise, I'm still sitting on the inflatable couch that I bought out of frustration from waiting so *** long. Who's the fool here?

Bob's discount furniture - stay away

I bought a king Bob-O-Pedic on Sunday. They set up delivery for Tuesday 1 to 4pm. They showed up at 11am - of course no one was home. After speaking to 3 customer service reps it was recheduled for Thursday 1 to 4pm. At 530pm on Thursday after not receiving the matress I called customer service asking about my merchandise. The woman said "is has been delivered". Ridiculous. So then she puts me on hold and retuns saying "your merchandise wasn't put on the truck". Is this rocket science? How hard is it to deliver a matress? th customer service rep then says that a supervisor will call me to reschedule. The supervisor never called back. I called the store - no one could help me there either. I am going to cancel the order. The WORST furniture buying experience I have ever had.

stay away, run don't walk, I was told that almost all of bob's furniture comes direct from the Carolina's, if that is true then the people making it must have and IQ of the Q-ball. My set fell apart within 1 year and just when my last payment is due, (how convenient).

I went out and purchased something three times as much, but it's well worth it. Buyer beware...........

after 3 years my king sized bobbybear mattress has body forms in it. ive emailed and phoned coster service at least 9 times and went to the store where i purchased it . no one returned any of my calls or emails and the store said they would email customer service to date no response bob sucks and is a liar he should be sued for false advertising does anyone have any suggestions for me to get results. my email is tjh8553@***.net i would appreicate any help or suggestions i can get thank you in advance for your help

I just recieved a phone call from QVC stating they noticed

I had a high return rate. Im wondering if that No Hassle Return policy

is what they say it is. I've been with them for 12 years and CANNOT

its likely you didn't turn the mattress AND flip it on a regular basis. They don't make things like they used to so following maintenance schedules becomes more important.

In the end, thats the loop-hole they'll nail you with.

No company that peddles junk--as Bob's does--will stand behind it. Think about it.

And people actually pay more for the goof proof which does nothing. When you spend more for good stuff you won't need a warranty.

Do it right or do it twice. There's a sucker/cheapskate born every second, so instead of this clown going out of business he's putting up his 46th store..

The Bobs Discount Furniture Adventure

My wife and I embarked on a quest for new living room furniture this past Sunday, at the time we didn’t know it would be a quest, but isn’t that always the way it turns out? And it all started so harmlessly... After many months of diligently saving for new furniture, we began our journey to find the perfect sofa set via the web and a visit to Bob’s Discount Furniture’s website. Why Bob’s you ask? Simple, his commercials promised great furniture at a great price and if we didn’t have to empty the savings we’d be ahead of the game! Maybe splurge for a new plasma TV! I was happy. So off we go, exploring Bob’s website where we found a good looking set for a great price and it wouldn’t blow our budget. This is easy we thought, but you can’t just buy furniture off of a website, you have to give it an ***-test first, and to the store we went. During the journey to Bob’s a thought tugged at my mind, a softly whispered, ‘you know if it sounds too good to be true...’, ‘Shush little ***-voice, we’re going to Best Buy later’, I countered, successfully silencing the nag that sits in my head. Upon entering the large showroom, we were greeted by ‘Steve the Salesman’ a pleasant man despite his toad-like appearance, all ‘yes-sir’ and ‘yes ma’am’ and great big toady smiles. We were thrilled, just one store to visit, a happy Man-Toad greeting, a great price and new furniture. We began a search for the set we saw online. We traveled the store, happily sitting on all kinds of sofa’s and loveseats, ***-testing everything at or below our budget. But after the first few we began to feel as if we were being watched. We were. At every turn Man-Toad was there eyeing us, not with suspicion, but with hunger... like the way a hawk watches a small bunny or the way a *** watches his next victim. Christ almighty, I thought, don’t they pay these guys? This went on for our entire visit, the wife and I would sit, talk about the pro’s and ***’s of each set and Man-Toad would be just off to the side, watching... at first we joked about it, then we became annoyed with it... dude, why don’t you just sit in our *** laps already? And there it was - the set we saw online. We sat, we liked, we should buy this… and there was Man-Toad. Gazing, watching. Endlessly staring, like he could sense the kill was near. My wife and I took one look at each other and knew what we had to do. We left without buying a *** thing from Bob’s and our quest, the one we thought we wouldn’t have to take, began. After trudging through six other stores and encountering many drooling, hungry, hovering salesman we finally found, at Laz-E-Boy, the perfect sofa set. It was such a sweet relief to be able to shop in peace where there were no hovering Man-Toad’s watching over us. She was happy, I was happy... the budget wasn’t. I couldn’t get my plasma TV, but I did have a good meal later with my favorite girl and after a few pints of Guinness, I couldn’t care less. And neither could my inner nag who whispered ‘told ya’ right before I drowned him out with a great big gulp. Just one finally word to Bob, tell your sales staff to back off, because when I’m shopping for furniture I don’t want to feel as if I’m about to be gang-raped like fresh meat at a prison dance.

Dearest Former Sales,

I have indeed worked in sales for many years, and have also managed a sales staff. I believe this gives me the qualification to expose the very unskilled nature of the associates hovering around Bob's Discount Furniture store.

clearly you have never been in sales, and don't understand that a salesperson NEEDS to be available to you WHEN you need them. Which, logically means they need to be within eye sight of you.

Any normal, intelligant person would be able to relate to this. Clearly you and your wife are alittle uptight and should possible move to a deserted island where you can quitely go *** yourselves.
