Bobs Discount Furniture - Sofa Review from Colchester, Connecticut

So I buy a sofa and love seat less then 3 years ago all the seats have the springs worn out and they say it's normal ware and tear. I said I won't except that so they say they will replace the springs but they won't have them till middle of June ? Really 4 months to get springs. So very disappointed I spent $1500 and get this kind of service. Never again I'll pay a little more next time and support local businesses

Goof Proof is a scam!

I purchased a sectional sofa at Bob's in July. The absolute only reason I chose Bob's was because of the Goof Proof protection. The sales person told me it covered spills and really drove home it covered everything while my almost-one-year old shopped with us. I was given a pamphlet about goof proof. That it. No specific detail. I never even questioned not getting more information because the salesperson was so convincing. I was denied, Here's why; My daughter spilled coffee on one cushion. soaked. There was a centimeter splash on the arm, a small spot on the backrest and a small spot a few inches long on the cushion next to it. There are also small spots on the cushions that I believe are yogurt. I usually spot wash tiny issues myself, but I purchased Goof Proof so why not use it? There are small one year old sized spots that I though I would have cleaned while they were here cleaning the large coffee stain. I PAID FOR THAT COVERAGE. I WAS TOLD ALL SPOTS WOULD BE COVERED. I was denied. They will clean nothing because I need my whole couch cleaned. I said no big deal, I can clean the tiny spots myself. Please come clean the cushion that is completely ruined by coffee. NOPE. Refused to clean anything because I already said there were spots on the rest of the couch. I DROVE TO BOBS. Some one will call in 48 hours. That's it. This is not what I thought I was buying. No wonder I was not given the correct information, I would never have purchased a couch from them. I am now researching similar complaints, government agencies in CT and NH to reach out to investigate and I have already filled out a form for the OFFICE OF THE ATTORNEY GENERAL CONSUMER PROTECTION AND ANTITRUST BUREAU 33 CAPITOL STREET CONCORD, NEW HAMPSHIRE 03301 Tel.: (603) 271-**** Fax: (603) 223-**** Toll Free: (888) 468-****. Here is the information for that office if anyone needs it. I am looking at class action law suits as well. Has anyone else had this experience? Was it cleared up? What action did you have to take? The only way I have found for them to make good on the Goof Proof warranty is to alert the BBB, they cave after that.

I went to my Bob's store that is 15 minutes away to order a dresser. I assumed that I can do in store pick up but that was not an option.

Instead, they told me I was going to be charged 40 dollars to deliver to my house... I live so close to the store that this is absurd. They charge you 40 dollars for their fault of not allowing in store pick up.

They only deliver during the week which is very difficult for my significant other and I.

He was able to change his whole schedule around to be home at the estimated time of delivery. He was about to leave work when they called him to tell him there is a different time of delivery. They did this twice... He spent the day rearranging meetings for this.

Absolutely ridiculous. I will never order from Bob's again.

Leather sofas are peeling off after 2 years

We purchased a leather couch set (3 pieces set) from Bob's furniture store 3 years ago. Also added Goof Proof Plus 5 year extended warranty.

After 2 years, the sofas began to fall apart and peel off on sides and random places. I'll never again buy anything from Bob's. You get what you pay for. Cheap quality and They don't stand behind their products.

Doesn't matter even if you buy an extended warranty (Goof Proof Plus nonsense) It doesn't cover anything. It's just a way of them to charge extra money from their customers.

Bob's Furniture? Never again!

On sep 2015 I reported to bobs the stitch and the spring of my couch not functioning right because I. Have insurance for 5 years I decided to take actions before is to late, bobs call me to give me a frame time of 4 hours for my visit, the technician that came was not so polite moved aroun my furniture and decided that the problem was caused by someone , when I call the insurance they denied replacing it because they dint feel that a good reason. I call goof proof plus they also decided to do nothing but yes I pamid insurance for what . I when and gave a visit at the local store and yes the manager agree they were wrong . I notice they're display stitch was also coming out now what is ur excuse a custome broke it . I have no words to describe the insufficient professional skills any of theses sales pp have to denied me with insurance on a 2 1/2 old couch, and because there all about lie and it's all a fraud. I would never purchase or recommend this irresponsible store to any one .

Purchased in 2007 was very happy until now. They replaced the remote once before and it recently stopped working a tech. Came stated I would need another. I received a call from Bobs they said they no longer support that product because they changed manufacturers I would need to purchase an upgrade kit for $387. They should support their products even if they change suppliers. I guess you get what you pay for. I won't be buying anything else from Bobs.

Double tragedy

I purchase 2 bedroom sets, 2 chase, and a dining room table from the Bob's store in Yonkers. The furniture was to be delivered to Florida on October. 20. Didn't get their until first week of November. I had a friend received the furniture, unfortunately I didn't get down to Florida until January due to the passing of my wife. Once I check through the furniture, I realized that the stitching was coming of one of the chase. The fire place was not build and left in its box. Once I called bob the rep was very kind and said some one will get back to me. Month later no phone call. This morning on February 1 6:45am I was awaken by the collapse of the mattress frame. I'm 200 lbs I've slep in this bed for 30 days and unless by disease wife, gained 300 lbs in heaven and desired to visit me this morning and lay in bed with me this mattes should not have collapse. I can not believe how cheap this garbage furniture is. Now my heart and my back hearts.

Had the breakfast with Bobs Furniture appointment set up. Night before delivery saying my appointment scheduling has changed for 3-5 pm & I work nights. Set my alarm for 630 on the dot. Called customer service put me on hold numberous times & said the truck has already been loaded and cannot do anything. Cursed them out & told them it's customer review time.... Jerkoffs

Delivery Tracker is a Joke!!!!!

I have ordered a Bedroom Furniture to be delivered on Friday and they gave me a delivery window between 7:45 am - 11:45 am. I called them to change the time of delivery at least to 9am up to whatever time they want since the Apartment building has a rule for Tenants not to accept delivery earlier than 9am.

The customer rep from Bob said she will have to cancel the appointment and reschedule for another day. I said it is just a time change, they can deliver others in the morning and they can mine next. She said No. She reschedule it for another day between 1:45 - 5:30pm.

I took off that time and waited for the delivery. They didn't show up at 1:45 so I started checking their website Delivery tracker. It said my furniture has already been delivered at 1:32pm. I was surprised because no one has called my number if they are here or didn't get any furniture at all.

Called customer service. They said it will get there within an hour. It still didn't get here. Called back again and was given another hour to wait.

Right now I am still waiting and I am pissed. Will never go back to Bobs again.

yah was supposed to have my grandsons bed delivered yesterday, between 3:30 and 7:30 for 2 hours on the tracking said they were at stop 5 and I was 14,, when I called the lady said they had to cancel very upset!

Bob's furniture is made in Vietnam and is poorly quality at best. My coffee table arrived broken, even though the outer box was undamaged.

Their Customer Care-less Hotline is worthless, as they tried to say that I broke the item, and then wanted me to pay for the delivery for a replacement. I finally got a replacement, but I had to drive the two hours to return their broken junk. Do yourself a favor and buy your low-quality stuff from Wal*Mart or IKEA...at least they are not trying to scam you and you don't pay much.

And, they take back broken merchandise!

I saw a women in PA where Bob's deliverers did $7k damage to her home. You two need to get together and threaten him with a social media war, if he doesn't make things right! It's the cost of doing business!!

Bobs is the worst! Plywood backing for a hutch, and chair seats fell right off! Not even real wood.

And why look at his ugly face during commercials instead of the furniture?

Mattress delivery

WARNING: DO NOT BUY FROM BOBS DISCOUNT FURNITURE!!!! just a little story to share. I bought a mattress that was to be delivered between 11 and 3. get a call saying truck broke down and wont make it in those hours. They will call me and let me know. so I left only to get a call at 3:30 that they tried to deliver the mattress and i was not there. thank fully I was able to stop the truck as I was a few minutes away. As they are ready to unload it they discovered it was wet, so they didn't feel comfortable leaving it. In the meantime they get me in touch with customer service who is kind enough to say she will put in a request to have it delivered on Saturday. Fine and dandy, Saturday comes about 11 no word yet about the mattress. So call again customer service. we are so sorry the mattress didn't make the truck, cant deliver till Tuesday morning. we can make a 6:30 delivery so you wont miss another day of work. in the mean time, I am sleeping on pillows on a box spring and on the couch where ever is most comfortable. so anxiously awaiting for Tuesday morning for my new mattress and don't I get a call saying it wont be delivered till between 1 and 5. what the blank. another day not in the office. so try and talk to customer service about all this all day long and got no where. This mattress better be gold cause I am not happy. guess I am not the first person this happens too. BEWARE OF BOBS DISCOUNT

Pissed off customer Bob's has some very nice furniture. But everytime I buy furniture from there it's always damaged it's like the delivery people don't care I complained to the Orange store and got a whole new bedroom set. But it's a shame how the furniture is always broken or holes are in the cushions, I've ordered a diningroom set the chair legs had holes in it livingroom furniture samething holes in custions and now my bedroom set which I paid over $3000.00 had cracks in it. Bob you should get a whole new delivery crew because the one you have they are terrible I have pictures to prove it. Bad assembly job.

They mess up orders then *** over.

Gail, Wrote up order wrong. Never reviewed order with us. Went back the day order was delivered because got the wrong bed, did not get the mattress. Went to store they gave us the run a round. Now got to wait 5 day to get the right bed and mattress, Have no bed to sleep on until the bed comes in. Only offered a fifty dollar gift card for all the inconvenience we now have to indoor. I will never deal with them again.

I bought a coffe table swt, comes with two side tables. Ive owned them for six months. I bought the insrance. This table lifts up so you can eat on it like a table. One night i lift the table to eat, and the siding on the table peels off in my hand. Okay. Call the company, they tell me to send pictures. Say theyll call within two days. Two weeks later. No call or email. I call, they reviewed my pictures. And determined that some of them where too dark, okay ill send more pictures, before i can do that. They determine that i have somehow gouged my table. And its not covered. Dont buy the insurance. It doesnt cover what it should. This is clearly a manufacturers default. Six months ive owned it. Some serious ***.
