I think there furniture is pretty looking..at a very cheap price,especially now that were in a horrible economy,,I think it's ok if you take care of it..guys cmon you want good furniture shop at high end stores.

Bobs Discount Furniture - Is Nothing But Junk

So my GF and I bought a new bedroom set and living room item from Bobs, we had the first delivery a day before we moved into our new place. So when the furniture showed up, our dresser and coffee table was damaged. The dress top was crushed and the tables we chipped, so they set up a new delivery date to bring us the replaced items. The 2nd time they came, the furniture was damaged AGAIN the coffee table was two different colors and dresser crushed. So once again we set up a another day for delivery so another Saturday we wasted and this time when the delivery guys showed up they told me the dresser and table were damaged again, but this time the delivery guys were very pushy and were trying to make us take the furniture and have a tech come out and fix it. The 3rd time they came and once again damaged and once again the delivery guys were pushy and trying to convince us to keep the items and not rejected them. I spoke to customer service rep who said one the 4th time they would have someone inspect the items and make sure they are not damaged. Well on the 4th time came this past Saturday and guess what, they were damaged and no one inspected the items, talking to customer service they were rude and were pretty blunt and said we are not making a delivery again and you can keep the stuff or return it, I was planning on buying more items from them but not now, I hope this review will keep more people away from there junk.

:( My wife and i purchased a dining room set from bobs.

When they delivered it the men scratched my new wood floor and to top it off they did not install the feet on the server. We found the feet in the drawer later that night.

About a week later everything on the chairs and table started to loosen up to where they wer'nt safe to sit on.

Should of went some where else.

Went to Bob's - asked specifically for all wood. Was told twice furniture WAS wood.

Delivery within 3 hour time frame -they came after 4 hours. ALL pieces - dresser, high bureau, night stand & foot board - except for head board had damage. Called store and said salesman had lied - he no longer worked there. They would redeliver.

Another 3 hour delivery wait - two pieces damaged again. Another 3 hour delivery wait - was told before they even unloaded truck that store knew there was damage and told them to deliver anyway!!! Called again. Was told I would get 25% discount on damaged articles if I kept them and had them fixed.

That was August - called 3 times and have yet to see the discount on the bill. In September had to call to have another piece fixed. No one was even using the furniture, but, it needed repair!!!

:( Not worth the time or money!!!! Wish I knew of this site BEFORE I bought from Bob's!!!

I am about to buy a house and I am planniong to buy some furniture. I first considered Bob's Discount Furniture because of the TV ads that seemed convincincing but because of the bad reviews I am reading about Bob's discount furniture.. I am planning not to buy from the store.

Wasted my money | Bobs Discount Furniture in Washington, District Of Columbia

bob won an award? for what? screwing customers? the coffee table i purchased came warped. 5 weeks later i am still waiting. i found out its discontinued its comming from the manufacture. i wanted a refund on the goof proof i purchased on this item, i cant get that money back. after 2 years the chair is ready for the curb bobs & guardsman wont stand behind that product. as for the 2 year old couch the stuffing disapeared after 9 months. it did get refilled. but lasted only 9 more months. so its now been a total of 2 years, guardsman, is now handling the claim, & is replacing.

Well that's certainly true, Bob's does not sell top-of-the-line funiture, obviously. It's the low-end garbage. You get what you pay for though.

For one thing, the manufacturer only offers a warranty for so long, and if you are out of it they will not replace items for you. Secondly, if guardsman is indeed handling the claim and replacing an item for you, that means YOU damaged the merchandise yourself and they are accepting the claim on that basis, since that is the only damage they do cover. How are you blaming Bob's for you damaging you merch?

Bob's Discount Furniture Customer Service From ***!!! | Bobs Discount Furniture in Newark, New Jersey

Bob's Discount Furniture in Totowa, NJ provides horrible customer service. Stay away, and I mean far away, from Bob's- it is not worth the aggravation. Purchased sofa, love seat, coffee table, end tables, kitchen table, chairs, bedroom furniture. Ripcords on the sofa (which you pull in order to recline) break off every 3-5 months for no apparent reason. Bob's plays these games where you call to schedule a service appt, they can't schedule it until the part arrives, then 4 weeks later they have no part ordered and you have to start from scratch (wait another 4 weeks). Most recently the ripcord remained broken for a record breaking 3.5 months. At that point I threatened to hunt down and take care of the elusive "Bob". It's been going on for years. One time they sent a service tech, but he didn't know what he was coming for. So, he didn't have the ripcord, and I had to wait another 4 weeks for it to be ordered again. Calling corporate is pointless too. The furniture is beautiful and was reasonably priced- all is well until things start breaking- then there is just a whole lot of hassle. You can't even request a time window for the tech to come, such as morning or afternoon. They just leave a recording a couple days before telling you what 2 hour window they are coming within. I hate Bob's Discount Furniture.

Well pull cables would not just break on their own, it must be do to the method in which they are used... or if for instance they were sticking to far up on the seat rather than below the cushion, if someone continuously sat on the handle, it would repeatedly bend the cable making it weak.

So either one of those cases are present here.

One is a customer caused issue, the other is the way the manufacturer places the handles.

In any case, at least Bob's takes care of the problem for you.

Do not buy from Bob's Discount Furniture Store. Their furniture is ***. Not worth the money you pay. Under a year, furniture cushions ripping, coffee table falling apart. Bought goof proof plan -isn't worth the money you pay for it. Customer Service reps - especially Candice and Keesha are rude, disrespectful and are unwilling to help their customers. Sales manager, Eric, at Woodbridge, NJ store should be fired for the comments he said to my husband and I. He was also disrespectful and said, "I shouldn't be dealing with this ***, since you purchased your furniture in a different store". Isn't Bob's Store one in the same?? STAY AWAY FROM BOB'S STORE, SPEND A LITTLE EXTRA MONEY AT RAYMORE AND FLANAGAN'S - IT'S WORTH IT.

Damaged Goods | Bobs Discount Furniture in Danbury, Connecticut

I bought a table and two chairs at Bobs in New London. Loved the set in the showroom and opted to pick it up at the distribution center to save the $60 delivery fee. I opened the table at the site to check for damages and found none. Got home put one chair and the table together no problems. Took out the second chair to find that the wood accent piece on the chair was cracked right down the middle. Called customer service (what a joke) I wanted to return the chair and get another, but was told they have to send out a service tech to inspect the chair to see if it is a manufacturerers defect or something else. Now I explained that when I took the item out of the box it was damaged, in this universe that's called a "Concealed damage" but to the customer service rep that was on the phone that meant something else. So I was scheduled to have a tech come out 6 days later. Now I bought the set on Tuesday, picked it up on Wednesday and now I have to wait about a week before someone comes to my house to tell me the chair is "broken". Bob's has nothing close to "Customer Service". All I want is a chair that isn't broken in a timely manner. Speaking to a "Manager" got me nowhere, big surprise. I searched the net for a corporate address or phone number and found nothing. No recourse for the consumer. I wouldn't buy another thing from them if I won the lotto. I won't suggest them to anyone ever. Now I sit, not in my new chair but waiting for a "tech" to tell me my chair is broken.

Wish we had the salesman demonstrate... | Bobs Discount Furniture in Smithfield, Virginia

We purchased a 4-poster bed quite awhile ago. Our salesman told us the middle section of each post could be removed and the top piece of the post could then be attached to the lower main section. We didn't ask for a demo and now that we have a reason to shorten the posts we found out two things: the lower main section has a screw sticking out of it and so does the top piece so they can't be connected. In addition, the top piece is smaller than the lower main section, so that's a no go all around. I contacted Bob's and they can't do anything about it and neither can the company who manufactured it. So, until we find a real solution each bed post on our cherry bedroom set has a styrofoam ball on it, spray painted to "match." Tacky. We no longer live in CT so we can't have a rep from Bob's come out to see what we're talking about. Bummer. I must say though that overall we've been very satisfied with our experiences with Bob's furniture and customer service. Over the three years we lived in CT we purchased two bedroom sets, a mattress, a kitchen table, a computer table, a leather couch set, artificial trees and several book shelves.

OK well, this guy is a ***....b/c I think $2000 for a living room set is perfectly acceptable. I bought a bedroom set for $2,000 (not including my mattresses).

They did not properly assemble it, which let to the headboard splitting...and the paint is peeling off of my set....with absolutely nothing but care. The insurance that I paid an additional 200 for, which is an outside vendor, has lost my paperwork twice and are handled by a bunch of 'second language english-speaking' *** who wouldn't know customer service if it fell out of the sky and landed on their face. My suggestion?

That we all organize a day when we pile our furniture into trucks and go to Bob's and dump it in his parking lot....that might get their attention. As for you 'LG' enjoy your expensive furniture.

I bought a kitchen dining set for $800 on May 10th 2008. It arrived May 13, 2008. My daughter received a gash on her knee from an open ended staple under the table the next morning at breakfast. When we looked under the table, we found 31 such staples, yes 31!! We took them all out and called Bob's. We were on hold for customer service for 45 minutes the first time and have been on hold for close to 197 minutes since and have yet to speak to a human being. Since then we've found holes under the chairs with wood chips waiting to come off. I was on the phone again this morning, on hold for customer service for 35 minutes, no humans. No one has returned our "customer service" complaint emails. We have no recourse but to go and make a stink in the store, which I plan to do. I can't believe a company as bad as this is still around? Who are they paying off? Is anyone else interested in generating a class action suit against them?

Imported (Asian or South American) has staples under the tops because of the straps used for packing.

BEFORE YOU BUY FURNITURE - ASK WHERE IT'S MADE! Buy American. You won't have to worry about staples, lead paint, etc.

Yeah, it costs more but let's make an investment in our own jobs and maybe prevent a few injuries too!

I have a similar issue chair fell apart while sitting it, and amlost killed my daughter. swivell chairs.

also glass from hutch just fell and almost cut my 1 yr old.
